ESPECIALLY Cut from the Air and Smash from the Air. First Idea: Start off with levels in rogue, later gain 2 levels of paladin so I can heal and smite. Essentially, you get a pool of Stamina Points you can spend to add to your Attack rolls. I have decent stats with 25-point buy and we're using the feat tax rules so I have Power Attack and Deadly Aim for free and weapon feats apply to daggers as well as rapiers. Idk, IMO Shadowblade, while better upcast than a lot of spells, is still not as good a 3rd level spell as just about any actual 3rd level spell. that said, i don't know that what you'd be getting is any better than your Swashbuckler powers growing. Warlocks add a lot for rogues out of combat options.
Alchemist spells are largely focused on self-buffing, the Mutagen can buff your DEX and as cool as bombs are, the Vivisectionist archetype gives you Sneak Attack. Fey Pact could also work, just because it gives you acess to Faerie Fire and Sleep.
Having fun so far.
I have a 3rd level Drow Inspired Blade Swashbuckler in a Way of the Wicked campaign. Even if Swashbuckler weapon training counts as fighter weapon training, I don't have 13 Str to qualify for Cut and Smash from the Air.
[Edit: Mutagenic Mauler is way better here].
Focus on buffing/utility spells like Vanish or Enlarge Person, rather than damage-dealing spells - you won't have the levels to make them count. Magus: If you're more INT-based, consider this.
Weapon Enchantments: Flamboyant - Gets you an extra Panache point. Maybe alchemist if you can give up 1 point of BAB for those mutagens. All your great abilities happen levels 1-5, the majority happen level 1 and 3. - unchained Rogue with Rake Arctype for an Defensive/INitmidating build. Level 7 might be worth waiting for, to get Superior Feint and Targeted Strike. Other rogues can still sneak attack when the enemy has an ally of the attacker next to them. Optimize your feats/equipment instead? Swashbuckler gets punished quite harshly for multiclassing because of Precise Strike scaling with level. Anyway, since this is going to be pretty challenging, I'm looking for options to improve my character, and/or something to multiclass into after level 5. My last character was a Bard with Dervish Dance. the Magus saves would be a really nice addition, as the Swashbuckler's biggest weakness is its craptastic saves. Since Inspired Blade doesn't get Panache on kills, getting it for firearm kills might help you a lot! I think she plans to go to 4 in Warlock and then the rest in Rogue.
I went with this build mostly because I wanted to play up his connection to the elements and liked the idea that he had divided loyalties. The Swashbuckler gets Evasion as level 11, but the campaign I was playing in didn’t get to go that far. Both give you better movement speed at first level and Uncanny Dodge at second level. Eladrin Swashbuckler 7 / Draconic Sorcerer 6. Ninja: DEX and CHA, plus Sneak Attack.
I'm considering a 1-2 level dip into: Shadowdancer, Ninja, Scaled Fist, Sleuth Investigator, Urban Bloodrager, or Eldritch Scion.
You get your best formulae at level 4 though. Hi all, I'm playing a Gillmen Swashbuckler (Inspired Blade Archetype) and we just leveled up to level 6. The Kata Monk archetype could give me an extra pool of panache as well. any multiclass you take needs to offer you damage to offset that loss. Three levels with a Swashbuckler Rogue gives you access to Rakish Audacity that lets you add Charisma to Initiative. (Not administered by or affiliated with Paizo Publishing® in any way), Looks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser. If the enemy is in darkness, then people attacking them have the same chance to hit as they did before.
This is huge, as a lot of debuff effects are a Ray.
I have a few ideas for the build, but I want to hear your guys' suggestions. You get most of your deeds, challenge is a nice mechanic to have for duels, and some of the orders are also fairly cool. Probably won't go that far.
Its also synergistic with almost every other feat. As far as Multiclassing goes, I’ve dipped two levels into the Unchained Monk to pick up that sweet sweet Evasion. Combat Stamina - I love this feat. The darkness isn't as bad as people think for your own party. Belt of Tumbling - Gives you +4 to Acrobatics to move around enemies. Gunslinger: Grit and Panache stack, so even if your Wisdom is low, you'll be fine (or use the Mysterious Stranger archetype for CHA-based grit). WotW is 3pp and generally harder than most of Paizo's APs (the Player's Guide recommends 25 point-buy to offset this).
In the D&D5e there are advanced rules in the Player’s Handbook concerning the topic of multiclassing. Maybe once precise strike and power attack are higher it might be worth it regardless of losing Dex to damage. recovering panache via killing blows is so absurdly handy, and much more valuable than a bonus feat and an extra damage or two. I'm assuming you are CHA-focused rather than INT-focused. It would probably be worth it at higher levels even without Dex to damage, once precise strike and power attack are providing most of my damage. The feats Accomplished Sneak Attacker and Extra Ki can help compensate for your low level. Urban Rage or a Mutagen could give me +4 Dex when I want it, and anything with a grit, luck, or panache pool would stack with my panache so I can double the precise strike bonus more often. Magus would have been great if they didn't nerf Slashing/Fencing Grace so that it no longer works with Spell Combat. AND it lets you deflect spells that require ranged attacks. We have little money and haven't had a chance to buy/sell loot anyway, so I'm looking for character options rather than magic items. Bard song for inspire courage and a +1 to hit and damage. So if you want to be not a Swashbuckler nows the best chance.
The attacker can't see the target, so they get disadvantage, but the target cannot see the attacker, so the attacker gains advantage.
Or just threaten them with punishments if they lose. This is exactly why I never end up actually multiclassing, even though it's fun to think about the interesting combos. crzyhawk. If the DM allows the precise strike to stack, what about Daring Champion cavalier?
The swashbuckler is probably one of the best classes to dip into IF YOURE PLAYING ANOTHER CLASS.
Urban Id Rager with the Anger emotion is solid.
This works because the rogue does not have disadvantage, as it was canceled by advantage.
Expeditious Retreat spell for some battlefield movement and later Spring Attack feat. The problem is that Inspired Blade wants INT, but most INT classes are spellcasters... and sacrificing caster levels is almost never a good idea, especially not for the arcane casters that would be wanting INT.
You are using an out of date browser.
Overall not as good, I'd imagine, because Smite Good is more situational than Smite Evil, and not being able to heal yourself as a swift action really hurts.
At fourth level Warlock she learns a cantrip, so if she doesn't know Booming Blade yet that will be the time. Bard. Waves Mystery is at least thematic, but any will do. With a half drow you can get 16 Dex and 16 Charisma to start.
It won't work with. I recommend a one or two-level dip into Fighter to make sure you have Dodge, Mobility, and Combat Reflexes, and then entering the Shadowdancer prestige class. I've taken Drow Nobility and Dex-to-damage, and I'd like to continue the Drow Nobility feat line. Canny Tumble - Not one I’d recommend if you’re short on feats, but it’s nice to dance around your opponents and get bonuses for it. The swashbuckler is probably one of the best classes to dip into IF YOURE PLAYING ANOTHER CLASS. I might be able to convince my DM to let me be a lawful evil Antipaladin, and the fear aura would go nicely with menacing swordplay. For instance, a 2-level Ninja dip could get a sneak attack die, a Ninja trick that I can use on a combat feat, and a ki pool that I can make an extra attack with. Your Challenge power won't be too great, but Resolve is a very nice power to have. The site may not work properly if you don't, If you do not update your browser, we suggest you visit, Press J to jump to the feed. Technically there's nothing stopping you from multiclassing into either of the aforementioned classes. ugh, you kind of backed yourself into a corner by doing Inspired Blade. Depending on what I get, a dip could easily surpass that 1-2 damage I'd be losing. Sadly the Daring Champion and Virtuous Bravo paladin have both stolen the very best features from the Swashbuckler, and applied them to a much better chassis. Between the boots and the belt, and your already high Acrobatics and Derring Do feature, you’ll be able to dance around most enemies with relative ease.
Honestly, Swash is one of those classes that basically exists as a 1p dip. the D&D5e there are advanced rules in the Player’s Handbook concerning the topic of multiclassing Bardic Performance (increased by the Extra Performance feat) can be thematic as you give your crew orders or inspiring speeches.
First level bard, you will lose a point of BAB, but you'll get a nice will and reflex save bonus (better than the next level of swashbuckler will get you).
In our most recent fight (before we hit level 3) we fought a Knight of Mistra (not a Paladin) who nearly TPK-ed us. I'm pulled in several different directions: I want to be a better skill monkey (or at least add some utility), I need better saves, more general tankiness, and I don't want to lose any damage. Ah, damn, you should have gone the route of 1p Swash 19X...retraining isn't too bad. Paladins gets better base saves and CHA to all saves can stack Smite and Precise Strike for level x2 to damage.
I think you should just stay full swashbuckler. A couple of dips that are generically useful for a Swashbuckler (1 level unless noted otherwise): Prowler at World's End Bloodrager (Tiger spirit), Thug Unchained Rogue (options for triggering Frightening: Enforcer feat, Memorable trait), Slayer (only if combats last a decent amount of time, to make losing a couple move actions on Studied Target worthwhile). For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. I mean, 5th level slots come toward the end of when most campaigns last, but even if they came earlier, Shadow blade is good without any upcasting. If you're feeling like you want to challenge yourself there's a charisma based magus archetype. Arcane Pool buffs your weapon a bit.
As several people have said, Urban Barbarian and Urban Bloodrager are good choices (as you can buff DEX with Rage).
She is a fiend kit warlock, but hexblade is probably even better.
Since I'm evil I can't get into Devoted Muse, Duelist seems kinda crappy, and I haven't come across any other PrCs that look appealing for the long haul. 5th Edition.
Any suggestions for PrCs or archetypes I can multiclass/dip into would be lovely, plus any feats or feat chains that I should look into, as well as any arguments for/against the options I've listed. #31 May 17, 2020. crzyhawk.
