Care to post it here?
As for the newer inductees, For instance, Michael Jackson is listed in tier 2, yet anyone familiar w/the 80's would surely place him in the top tier.

You become the pumped-up star of your own action movie. The Smiths I've thoroughly discussed my reasons for disliking The Beatles and LZ, so there's no need to flog two already dead corpses. Was it based on their brilliant songs? We are talking about Rock music here, right? What;s the first song ANY kid learns on guitar??
The most obvious one to me is Metallica, who are no brainers for level 4 at least, and could possibly mount a case (admittedly a weak one) for level 5. You're right .Smokey is NOT the savior of all music. Back To The Future And Elton John is more important than Smokey Robinson & The Miracles? "Bad Girl" – Dazz Band. Honorable Mention:
Not really. Posted by Mike on Thursday, 05.28.20 @ 12:15pm. ELO
-Probably the first class, 1986 Most influential besides Beatles, Elvis and Chuck: ELO - 1 That means: no SUPREMES, TEMPTATIONS, FOUR TOPS, MICHAEL JACKSON & THE JACKSON FIVE, STEVIE WONDER, MARVIN GAYE,MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS,MARVELETTES,GLADYS NIGHT & THE PIPS, etc,etc,etc.... These are basically "L3" guys, only there's something just inherently "greater" about them. They're not interested in "secondhand influence" or "undercurrent carriage" of rhythms, sounds, influence or innovation.
Guns N' Roses weren't the most pleasant of acts. I love it. "The Temptations (Retained only for their recordings with Smokey Robinson on lead vocals)"
And to all of the rest of you, whether you are Miracles fans or NOT: Except perhaps Bon Jovi, which I would put in the sub-basement if it were within my power to do so. Keep in mind this was back when I was about 9-10 years old when I first started listening to Motown acts. Smokey Robinson & the Miracles "I've Been Good To You" – Marshall Crenshaw, Brenda Holloway, Joe Meek, The Temptones, Ray, Goodman & Brown (The Moments), The Ones, The Temptations.
You were being facetious, were you not?
Like the Wolf in Pulp Fiction, Scottie specialized in cleaning up everyone else’s mess. Posted by classicrocker on Wednesday, 04.4.12 @ 18:01pm. c) their influence on guitar and drum techniques, painstaking production methods, song structure and use of electronic effects extends far, far, FAR beyond the realms of metal. When Simmons wrote the book, Bryant and Bird each had three NBA Titles to their names. Then they flew to the next city and kicked the shit out of somebody else. I'll stop now, but I could go on. (when you say the U.K., does this include Australia?

"After All" – The Supremes, The Marvelettes. 8. "I Gotta Dance to Keep From Crying" – The Who, Jimmy James. Everyone else in that lot is pretty clearly Level 1 to me. "Determination" – The Contours. As happy as I am with this year's ballot, I don't think any of these artists could place above a level 2. Heck...the first Motown act, PERIOD. "Who's Gonna Take The Blame" – Capone N. Noreaga (as the basis of their song "Live On Live Long"). Black Sabbath
Ike & Tina Turner 1986 Jimmie Rodgers

Beat induction year: 1993, Posted by Mike on Thursday, 02.6.14 @ 14:22pm. "Darling Dear" – The Jackson Five. Taking risks? Chamberlain and West retired after 14.
The Yardbirds HAVE to be here; I don't have to like them to know that their contribution to rock is equal with most of the artists on this level.
Otis Redding Hell, one of the most commercially successful pop-rock bands of the 21st century (Nickelback) consider Metallica as their biggest influence. Press J to jump to the feed. 11.

I still listen to modern rock/indie radio at times, but for the most part, I start losing sustained interest around 1998 or '9. My occasional communication efforts within this forum is generally framed around acknowledging my own biases and attempting to subvert them for more rationale dialog.
Not quite as cluttered, not as much space.

For rap artists, I would get rid of Public Enemy and replace them with 2Pac or Eminem and move Run DMC and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five up higher. When you look at it this way, it's not an especially inspired class, is it? Lincoln People will still be listening to their music, hundreds, if not thousands of years from now. "A Fork in the Road " – Rebbie Jackson is if Kevin Durant went to Boston instead of Golden State.".
School of Rock The Bee Gees Even though Durant hasn't played for very ling, there is no justification to rank him below Bernard King. Shit happens. That's at least 70+ years of music I'm combing through and constantly digging up gems. If you needed scoring, Scottie could create a shot or attack the rim. Is the top level EVER going to have more than twelve? Muddy Waters Why not include other stats like total points, rebounds, assists, etc in the measure? Level 3 ??
They kept Sabbath out for a while (dumb call).
2Pac Lennon had one brilliant record (his first real solo record) and one decent one (the overrated 'Imagine'), and then some good songs sprinkled amidst a lot of filler and crap. If not, then I hope you have a well-rounded taste in music.
