-I haven't tried it in very wet conditions as I've heard may of them can have issues with puddles. Hey, I used a mercane mx60 for my daily commute, ( I have about 1000 miles on as of now) before covid forced me to work from home. Everyone I know that has owned one for over a year has fallen off from time to time if you use it daily, if you lock it, it will get stolen within days, some have removable batteries, which are whats worth most, so some people lock and remove battery, but its best to carry, I usually see them in bike lanes, not sure about the legality, but as you are the fastest one in the lane you need to be extra careful. I carry a U-lock with me in case I have to lock it up outside but when I do lock it up I fold it up as much as possible so it isn’t obvious that it’s an electric scooter. One of my friends broke their leg on one. It’s easy to buy them and start using them on the roads, but any cop who sees you is technically within their right to pull you over. Winter will be here before we know it and that brings slippery conditions. I always see them on sidewalks, but isn't that technically is not allowed as you should be in the street? Yep streets only, but if you have to take it a block or two on the sidewalk to reach a bike lane that's not a huge deal. Probably not going to ride my scooter through the slush since it’s slippery when wet and gross. Spend any time in New York or London, and you’ll inevitably come across dozens of people whizzing along each city’s streets on electric scooters. Riding fast things with wheels on the sidewalk is just a bad idea. All things electric bikes from motorcycles to pedal assist.
I don't plan on going over the 25mph speed limit unless it's totally safe (dry road conditions, ample light/lighting, no one near me, etc.) If anyone has any experience with scooters in NYC I would love to hear your thoughts. As for divots and such, I thought the Wolf's 11-inch tubeless pneumatic tires and motorcycle-like suspension would easily roll over them?? Bike paths along th water are great and feel very safe.
