The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and a complaint was filed.
How was bill currie Ford in tampa, able to certify this car when the brakes were already failing!!!!! Almost hit the vehicle stopped in front of me.
We also have the high pitched whistle, it is only prevelent when the engine is running. The vehicle was not repaired. yes! how to describe it but it had to do with the axle rubbing against something. Obviously brakes stopped was not told it was only a PowerTrain warranty. I've taken it to the dealer and shown them video but they don't know what it is. With no warning, the brakes got rock hard and then go to the floor after awhile with a whistling noise. all problems of the 2008 Ford Edge .
Service manager drove with me, got up to 60, and cut engine. The first time was in Feb. 2010 the switch under the brake pedal went out, left me stranded.
It should also be accompanied by the battery light.
Noise still there so must be something still moving but not in engine.
was just the caliper/brake clips or something easy. post it here. The failure and current mileage was 52,000. Another possibility is a bad wheel bearing.
It doesn't respond on the screen either when I hit the AC button. I contacted Ford @ 1-866-436-7332 to express my problem & concern. I spoke to 4 different representatives that all recited the same script.

It was louder when 10-29-15 - 4-1-16 production had problems with a fuel line making a noise. My mechanic finally figured it out. I got my car back today, they fixed the faulty brake boosters and the cabin is uncharacteristically quiet. 2014 For Edge SEL on a Thursday 6/11....

me it was fixed. my 2007 edge sel awd has that whistle when coasting down from 43 mph to 40 mph...every time. The fan makes a high pitch whistling sound when fan is past 3 speed.
This time a loud whistling noise filled the cabin. At approximately 76,000 miles, my 2013 Ford Edge's brakes failed. If yours is not affected by speed, it may be engine related.

There was no warning indicator illuminated. I needed to make it home, drove trying to go as slow as possible and staying away from other cars, however brakes worked without issues. on the highway going 60 mph both times. Seems like when I'm driving and if you turn off the A/C and/or Radio...there is a faint high pitch whistling sound. My girlfriends 2014 Edge making similar sound. I pressed down harder & came to a very hard & sudden stop. He said he saw it once before in his long career.
