I knew this wasn't the original cast but thought I'd give it a try. With Herman arrested and placed in jail, Grandpa creates a replica of him from spare parts and uses it to help him escape. Unable to add item to List. The storyline is eerily contemporary, given the debate over the US-Mexico Border/Illegal Immigrants vs Dreamers. I always liked the Munsters, but only just... You probably think I'm just being over the top, but it’s litterally the best Munsters of all time.
If you remember the TV series - then leave your memories intact rather than overlay them with this grim sequel. If fact, all the actors and the direction was comedic genious.

Here Come the Munsters is a television film that aired on Fox October 31, 1995. Directed by Robert Ginty. Once there, the Munsters discover that Marilyn's father (Dr. Norman Hyde) is missing and her mother (Herman's sister Elsa Munster Hyde who resembles the 1930s "Bride of Frankenstein" played by Elsa Lancaster) is in a catatonic state, caused by extreme shock. Edward Hermann was wonderful as lovable Herman Munster, and Veronica Hamel made a delightfully girlish, yet beautiful Lily Munster. The Munsters find themselves being harassed and bullied by villagers, so they decide to leave their Transylvania home and move to America, at the supposed suggestion of their niece Marilyn. This is in contradiction to the original series and "The Munsters Today" where Lily buys it as a gift for Herman. The Munster family is tired of being persecuted back in Transylvania, and on finding part of a letter from cousin Marilyn in California, decides to head to the United States.
The debut Halloween broadcast on Fox was hosted by The Cryptkeeper (voiced by John Kassir), host of HBO's Tales from the Crypt (1989). Can't beat the original cast though, good overall effort.

In the original series and "The Munsters Today", the Munsters owned the house but in this version they are just house-sitting for Herman's sister.
Brent Jekyll is running for Congress and as part of his campaign is trying to get foreigners out of America (this includes the Munsters).
GHASTLY with none of the atmosphere or 'togetherness' of the original cast.

In the race scene immediately following the jail break, blue paint marks can be seen on the pavement when the police cars and motorcycles swerve and skid marks can be seen on the roads - obviously from previous takes.
It featured cameos of almost all the original cast members including Al Lewis, Yvonne De Carlo, Pat Priest and Butch Patrick but for Fred Gwynne, who had passed away in 1991 due to pancreatic cancer. The family must find out what has happened to Marilyn's father, and find a way to revive Elsa. There is a more sinister part of the story as it seems that Hyde was sabotaged and transformed into Jekyll purposely, to bring forward a politician without a past with whom people would listen.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Marilyn Hyde (aka Munster) is played by Christine Taylor who played Marcia in "The Brady Bunch Movie." Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. I found the storyline to be a good one but the old munsters click wasn't there. It turns out that Norman was trying to find a way to make his "peaches and cream" daughter, Marilyn, look a little more like the rest of the clan, but somehow the experiment backfired and Norman Hyde became Brent Jekyll.
