The Omen 30L is not without its problems, of course. A 500W power supply is likely not going to cut it with power-hungry monster GPUs, and the strange LED lightning issues I had with my review unit’s are not ones I’d wish on paying customers. It has a very nice built in Omen Command Center, where you can change the RGBs, monitor the temperatures etc. However, as noted previously, it is composed almost entirely out of metal (except for its four plastic feet), which contributes to most of its weight and gives it a nice, sturdy feel. Overall a great desktop if you’re willing to put in the money for it. It has a very nice built in Omen Command Center, where you can change the RGBs, monitor the temperatures etc.
In fact, I haven't had a desktop in over 10 years. Don't know if how accurate this review is because i did buy an open box version of this product(with moderate side damage). However, one thing I didn't realize is that while this is able to upgrade some, you can't change bios settings, you have very limited options on replacing the cooler fan and while I haven't run into any problems yet, these are key factors in keeping the PC cooler.
It's great having them there, but instead of facing forward or sitting on a flat surface on top of the machine, the I/O section (and the power button) is located in a large, inset groove in the top panel.
Still, when you're shelling out $1,000 or more for a machine like this, you want something that feels like it's going to last a while, and the 30L certainly fits the bill there. This is my first gaming desktop. With the powerful Intel processor and NVIDIA graphics, you can play day one. There was no damage or anything like that.
And with being easy to upgrade and OMEN Command Center, it’s crafted for the long term. The color adjusting on the case is fun to play around with and gives you a fair amount of choices. only cons ive found in the weeks ive had it is the temp, and that the mobo only has two ram slots. Add those missing pieces to the equation and you’ll spend about $200 more than buying pre-built from HP. In this price range you can buy a more powerful system from the competitors, but you're losing out on a lot of quality in my opinion. You can buy another prebuilt PC on Bestbuy with RX 5700 XT + 3700X for $1200. Youll get high frames, games will look good, and there is room to upgrade. It’s fast as is and I have great 2k clarity immersive color and still need to download a GeForce raytracing game. TECHSPOT : Tech Enthusiasts, Power Users, Gamers, TechSpot is a registered trademark. It also let me tweak the response time and picture mode of the HP Omen 27i gaming monitor within the software, though further adjustments still needed to be made via the panel’s on-screen display. And boy was I surprised by this thing. Seems the command center cant control the RGB lighting setting anymore but it could be a faulty RAM stick. Still, when you’re shelling out $1,000 or more for a machine like this, you want something that feels like it’s going to last a while, and the 30L certainly fits the bill there. All in all, that set of ports should be more than enough to satisfy the average gamer, and it’s definitely nice to see support for USB Type-C here. The HP OMEN 30L GT13-0090 Gaming Desktop has got the looks and can back it up. Some might prefer this aesthetically, but the design made it easier for dust and grime to build up in my experience. HP's system builders also did a fantastic job with cable management. Still, a small issue in the grand scheme of things, and one that's easily circumvented with a quick Google search and a bit of extra elbow grease. The program is nicely laid out and includes a few nifty features. In-store pricing may vary. Plus, this computer is $200 cheaper than buying from HP omen. The new Omen logo debuted months ago when HP reworked the brand. Good buy! Naturally, if you're not happy with the baseline hardware configuration and have extra cash to burn, you can always upgrade the components during the checkout process. I have a ton of tabs open and I never reached 16.
Performance and reliability is key. I would recommend this product to other people. I am beyond excited for what this PC can do for me in the future! Compared to the spaghetti-like mess that many PC building novices (including myself, once upon a time) wind up with when they finish putting together their first gaming rig, it doesn't get much better than this. BUT!!!!! After my time with the Omen 30L, I only have two complaints with the PC's design -- one was a bit more serious, but the other is more of a personal nitpick. Two small complaints, though: If you run into any issues, you can always call up HP’s support line for assistance, and you’re covered by a 1-year limited hardware warranty should more serious, RMA-worthy system failures pop up. So yes I just wrote a book here and I made a lot of grammar and spelling mistakes for sure, but that shouldn't matter! After my time with the Omen 30L, I only have two complaints with the PC’s design — one was a bit more serious, but the other is more of a personal nitpick. If this is something you care about, I would take it into consideration for your purchase. HP also tossed in a WD Black 256GB NVMe SSD and a 1TB 7200RPM HDD for all our storage needs (with space for two extra 2.5-inch drives), plus all the cooling, PSU and case design is by Cooler Master. After all, you probably aren’t going to be dropping or knocking over a full-sized tower anytime soon, and if you do, you’ll have other things to worry about besides mere case damage. So I bought it and, so far, I'm pretty happy with it. As with most pre-built systems, HP saw fit to include a basic mouse and keyboard with the 30L. Still, a small issue in the grand scheme of things, and one that’s easily circumvented with a quick Google search and a bit of extra elbow grease. Unfortunate, but not dealbreaking. The RGB lights on my ram stop letting me change the colors and patterns so it’s stuck. Exceeded my expectations to say the least. I was always under the impression that you would have to have a state of the set pc setup to play games on high or ultra settings. Compared to the spaghetti-like mess that many PC building novices (including myself, once upon a time) wind up with when they finish putting together their first gaming rig, it doesn’t get much better than this. Companies like HP are aware of this, so it's understandable that it chose to funnel its resources toward more essential parts of the machine here. I wanted consistency and to know exactly what I was buying. It may not be the best in class when it comes to specs, but I'm telling you, its enough for 90% of us. The Omen 30L's streamlined look continues when you open up the tempered glass side panel.
Now the temps are a different story. At 6.5 x 15.53 x 17.05 inches and about 28.5 pounds, the Omen 30L doesn’t differ too much from competing machines in the size or weight department. Airflow is not the best, that said, you wont regret buying the pc. The 25L … I’m not sure whether something was wrong with the LEDs or if the issue is software-related. I was wrong. HP doesn't mess around with parts, so they use the exact same components in all of their PCs. If HP had to cut costs somewhere, I’m glad they did it here and not in another more critical area of the 30L. This was a steal! Most serious PC gamers buy the rigs for the chassis and internals and discard the included mouse-and-keyboard kits. The PC does run a little hot while idle and does get hot while Running games on ultra. Even when applying intense pressure to the 30L's rear panel, I wasn't able to warp it much at all. After plugging in the machine using the included power cable (running from a Cooler Master 500W power supply, which was a bit lower than I’d like), I was able to get up and running right away. Although this was open box, it had no damages and the worker there put the discount to $1000 FLAT! And the 256GB I can always upgrade.
