I don't think it's an uncommon thing to happen in those circumstances it's that the circumstances themselves are quite uncommon. The artwork pretty much had an arc of its own, originally being snatched from Godmother (Olivia Colman) by Fleabag, then being passed on to Martin (Brett Gelman) to give to Claire, being given back to Fleabag and then awarded to Belinda (Kristen Scott Thomas) in the second series, before being returned to Godmother. She then puts her hand on Fleabag's cheek after opening the gift, which was already an insincere gesture moments earlier. When Fleabag arrives, Godmother separates her from Arsehole Guy by conscripting her into serving drinks with the rest of the catering team.
